Rob is known for many things. Chief among them, is keeping things together and in order – a business builder. An entrepreneur since the mid 2000s, Rob has used this sensibility to build an impressive track record of conceptualising and building successful businesses across a diverse range of industries and services.
Rob originally built his career in the area of professional services, and he acquired a deep knowledge of corporate and development finance, including a stint with the World Bank, where experience in government policy was key. His other areas of expertise included private equity, project and infrastructure finance, as well as debt and private debt in capital markets. Rob also has years of experience in commodities trading, from where he developed an extensive understanding of weather and energy derivatives, especially in the field of catastrophe markets, insurance and risk transfer.
Rob has used this knowledge of the markets and of finance to great effect in the energy sector. He has worked extensively in each aspect of non-renewable energy, encompassing coal, electricity, LNG and natural gas, as well as LNG import, storage and regasification. More recently, his path has led towards the renewable energy space – particularly wind, solar and hydro, as well as battery storage technology.
These decades of experience in the corporate world have been instrumental in helping him – as an entrepreneur – to recognise potential in small to medium size start-ups and facilitating their long-term success. All of which has been brought together to form BTB Management Consulting. From investment management to project development, managing assets to insurance solutions, BTB offers a full range of services aimed at delivering maximum value to our clients, and helping them to build their business to its maximum potential.
